It was my honour, as the matriarch, to name each suite after our beloved grandchildren and their grandfather, my husband — the man who laid the foundation for all of this. The FRP Suite, our grandest and most opulent, honours FRP Schutte, my husband — the self-made man. With commanding views of both the Haweqwa and Jonkershoek ranges, this suite reflects his vision and tenacity. Like the French Huguenots who fled persecution to build anew in Franschhoek, he forged a future from the ground up — unyielding, proud, and brilliant. Frans, our grandson and Frans, our son, who carries his name and his quiet strength, share in this legacy, making this suite a tribute to three Kings.
Frans, or “Freeman” in its Latin roots, tied to freedom, heritage, and identity — all powerful themes that reflect both our grandson, our son, and my husband’s legacies.

Children aged 12 years and younger (maximum two children per room) will be accommodated free of charge on a Bed Only basis if sharing with one or two adults, but will be charged for breakfast. Children occupying their own rooms will be charged the full adult rate. Children aged 0-2, no charge. Children aged 3-12, 50% of the applicable rate per meal per day for breakfast. This policy does not apply to room service meals.
